OUR HISTORY
The Texas Longhorn originated from Spanish cattle in Texas at the time when the region was full of predators. Having defended itself from from bears and mountain lions. the Longhorn has come to symbolizes courage, fighting ability, nerve, lust of combat, efficiency in deadly encounters, and the spirit of “Never Say Die.”
OUR ACTIVES
Our active members are selected through a rigorous application process which considers academic performance, community service, and organizational leadership. Each “rowel” (new-member) is nominated by their peers in recognition of their commitment to The University of Texas and their ability to represent the Longhorn brand on and off the 40 acres.
